What is CapTel?

Short for Captioned Telephone, CapTel is a telephone designed for people with hearing loss. It works like other amplified telephones, with an important addition: Every word your caller says is displayed on the CapTel screen to read. Similar to closed captioning for TV.

About Chris Moylan

Chris joined OEI in 2016 after experiencing firsthand the young and aging population who suffer with hearing loss. It was easy for Chris to understand how impactful the CapTel program could be and how significant the need is in her community. Chris is rewarded each and every day with what a positive impact the CapTel has had on her clients. The program enables them to regain their independence, enhances their social well-being, allows them to interact with their friends and family and helps minimize their loneliness and depression. When not enjoying her role of Outreach Representative for CapTel, Chris can be found spending time outdoors, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family.
