Q: How is CapTel available for No Cost?
CapTel service is part of a federally-funded program regulated by the FCC and is exclusively designed for individuals with hearing loss, under provisions of the American with Disabilities Act. No contract, no hidden fees.

Follow the instructions on the No-Cost phone certification form and submit it to CapTel or give to your local Outreach Educator.
Shortly after the completed form is received, we will contact you to arrange your free local on-site installation or delivery.

CapTel Phones
CapTel 2400i
For people who prefer touch-screen technology, the CapTel 2400i has a large colorful display, dial-by-picture capability, and a built-in answering machine. Includes Bluetooth ® connectivity and speakerphone. Requirements: Telephone service, High-Speed Internet, standard electrical power.
CapTel 880i
Ideal for people with low vision, who have difficulty viewing standard-sized captions, the CapTel 880i has extra large font sizes & display options for easy reading. Requirements: Telephone service, High-Speed Internet, standard electrical power.
CapTel 840i
Designed for people who are comfortable with a traditional-style telephone, the CapTel 840i features a large easy-to-read display with built-in answering machine. Requirements: Telephone service, High-Speed Internet, standard electrical power.
CapTel 840
Designed for people without high speed internet access, the CapTel 840 works with a standard analog telephone line. Both the captions and the voice parts of the conversation are carried over the telephone line. Requirements: Analog telephone line(s), standard electrical power.

What is CapTel?
Short for Captioned Telephone, CapTel is a telephone designed for people with hearing loss. It works like other amplified telephones, with an important addition: Every word your caller says is displayed on the CapTel screen to read. Similar to closed captioning for TV.
About Kassey Granger
Kassey has been representing CapTel Outreach in update New York and Vermont since 2013. Born with hearing loss, Kassey enjoys connecting with others who have hearing loss through her work with OEI. It's been a blessing to help people connect with loved ones and friends again, and installing a CapTel phone for someone who needs it is always the highlight of her day. When not working or volunteering for her favorite organizations, you can find Kassey dancing, playing volleyball or on the water in her pink kayak.Kassey's Team
Alice Tenuto
Alice Tenuto joined Kassey's team in 2015, serving the Poughkeepsie area and surrounding towns. She has a severe hearing loss in both ears and is able to identify closely with the wonderful people she meets while installing CapTel phones. An avid traveler, Alice loves exploring new places and meeting new people.
Denise Murphy
Denise Murphy has been working in the Albany area with Kassey and as part of the OEI team since 2016. She loves meeting people and teaching them how to use their new CapTel phone. In her downtime, in addition to traveling and spending time with family, Denise enjoys taking photographs of nature, birds or anything that captures her eye.
Don Wales
Don Wales has been part of the OEI team since 2017 and has been serving folks in Buffalo and the surrounding area since then. He especially enjoys how excited customers become after he installs their phone and they realize that the lines of communication have been restored. In his down time, Don enjoys spending time with his grandkids, golfing, and cheering on Buffalo sports teams.
Pamela Foley
A member of Kassey's team since 2024, Pamela's role as an Installer for CapTel Outreach, combined with her passion for meeting and educating users, highlights her commitment to helping others. Pamela's pride in working for a Made in the USA product reflects her dedication to supporting local businesses and products. Additionally, her interests in abstract art, riding her Harley, enjoying live music, and hiking with her Doberman, Penny, showcase Pamela's adventurous spirit and love for life.
